Divisions

Patrol

The Patrol Division is the heart of the department and the most visible to the citizens of Clinton. The Patrol Division provides year round emergency response, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, covering approximately 42 square miles and a population of over 27,000 residents. Patrol officers remain committed to providing high quality, professional law enforcement services with an emphasis on problem solving.

Tactical

S.W.A.T (Special Weapons and Tactics)

For several years the Clinton Police Department has maintained a specialized tactical unit. Members of this unit are volunteers that are trained in the skills necessary to handle critical situations, from the service of high-risk warrants to hostage situations.

E.O.D. (Explosive Ordnance Disposal)

The members of this unit are highly trained officers who have volunteered to take on this extremely dangerous mission. These officers are trained to effectively deal with bomb threats and suspected explosive devices. This unit receives funding from the Federal Government and works closely with Homeland Security. This unit responds to E.O.D. investigations throughout the region.

Investigation

The Investigations division is responsible for conducting follow-up investigations of crimes that occur within the city. An Investigator responds to all major crime scenes.

Records

The records division receives, processes and stores all official reports and documents generated by the Clinton Police Department. The public can obtain copies of reports from the Records Division, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
