Weekend Music Scene
Friday Nights at Milepost 89 is every third Friday of the month at 7:00pm. Admission to each performance is at least "89" cents. The 2019 season will run from March through September. This event takes place inside the Clinton Visitor Center and highlights singers and songwriters.
The Clinton Visitor Center Weekend Music Scene offers a large amount of entertainment and fun year around to visitors and resident alike. Come enjoy local muscians in a beautiful, charming setting of an 1800's style farmhouse found on the Natchez Trace. We guarantee entertainment you will throughly enjoy!
The other weekend music scenes cover all generes of music - folk, country, bluegrass, string band, and gospel - with performances on most Saturday mornings and every Sunday afternoon during the month inside the Visitor Center. The Saturday morning music is from 9:30am to 12:00pm, and the Saturday afternoon music is from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. Sunday afternoon music is from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.
The Visitor Center is open Monday through Saturday from 9am to 5pm and Sunday afternoon from 1pm to 5pm. Hours may vary on major holidays.
Central Mississippi Acoustic Music Association (CMAMA) plays every Saturday morning except the third Saturday. This group plays a mixture of folk, country and blue grass. Classical Guitar Group plays one Saturday afternoon during the month, date varies. Mississippi Old-Time Music Society plays on the first Sunday afternoon of each month. This group is dedicated to the preservation of old time string music. Shade Tree Musicians play every Sunday afternoon except the first Sunday. This jam session includes country, bluegrass, and gospel. The public is invited to join with an instrument or to sing along with the Shade Tree Musicians.
