CSA Donates Funds for Mini-Pitch Project at Traceway Park
The Clinton Soccer Association (CSA) presented the City of Clinton with a check for the cost of the mini-pitch project at Traceway Park at Tuesday night’s board of aldermen meeting. “Clinton will be the first municipality to have a mini-pitch for public use in the state of Mississippi,” said CSA board member Corey Wolfe.
The two mini-pitch fields feature athletic tiles that are unaffected by most weather events and are immediately playable after a rainstorm. Wolfe emphasized the importance of having fields available for CSA Mighty Mites players as they are introduced to soccer for the first time. His hopes are that the addition of the mini-pitch fields will further influence the love of the game within the Clinton community and beyond as Clinton continues to establish itself as a soccer destination.
The fields will be branded for both the City of Clinton and CSA at midfield. Each field can hold 10 players at a time and will be available for play to all. Reservations for field play will follow the reservations and fees of current soccer fields through our Clinton Parks and Recreation department.
