Leaf Disposal Guidelines

Many homes in Clinton are surrounded by stately Elm, Oak and Pine trees that drop their leaves each year. Posing the question: What do I do with all these leaves.

Clinton’s bagged leaf collection program allows residents to dispose of leaves and yard waste weekly as part of the City’s contract with Waste Management

Residents are reminded to refrain from raking leaves to the curb in front of the house and into the storm drains. Bagged leaf collection or mulching are the only options for leaf and limb disposal in the city of Clinton. Please rake leaves away from storm drains in the street to prevent flooding.

Public Works encourages residents to take advantage of the bagged collection program. The bagging program, provided through Waste Management, allows residents to dispose of yard waste each week on their second trash collection day.

To participate, fill regular plastic waste bags with leaves and other yard waste.  There is a 60 pound maximum per bag. Be aware that wet leaves will add to the weight of the bag. Place the bags at the curb by 6 a.m. on your normal trash collection day. Limbs may also be disposed of through the regular trash collection provided they are cut into three foot lengths and bundled no larger than four feet in diameter.
